Mid-Century Ranch Residence

A front-yard landscape redesign developed around the site’s natural drainage conditions. The scheme transforms a low, erosion-prone area into a planted stormwater landscape, combining a dry river-rock swale with curving foundation beds, fieldstone edging and a simplified lawn structure.

The landscape is conceived as both infrastructure and composition. Stone, drought-tolerant planting and a carefully graded drainage channel manage surface runoff while establishing a clearer relationship between the house, driveway and street. A specimen tree and layered planting introduce scale and seasonal structure without compromising the openness of the site.
